What God Does Next

God responds to our cries—but not always the way we expect. In this powerful message, we explore what really happened on Palm Sunday: not just a triumphal entry, but also a flipping of tables.

Message Notes

Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
— Matthew 21:9

God hears your cry — but His response may not look like what you expect.

  1. When God Doesn’t Meet Expectations

Behold, thy King cometh unto thee…lowly, and riding upon an ass...
— Zechariah 9:9
  • The crowd expected a warrior. Jesus came riding a donkey.

  • They wanted freedom from Rome. He came to free their souls.

God doesn’t always come the way we imagine — but He always comes with purpose.

2. When Jesus Flips the Table

My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
— Matthew 21:12–13
  • Instead of heading to the palace, Jesus went to the temple — and flipped it.

  • He cleansed what had become corrupt. He confronted what was comfortable.

Sometimes God disrupts what we’ve tolerated to make space for what we’ve prayed for.

3. When Healing Follows the Flip

And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
— Matthew 21:14
  • After the cleansing, healing came.

  • Jesus didn’t flip the temple in anger — He cleared it for restoration.

God isn’t destroying you — He’s preparing you for healing.

Response

  • Maybe you’ve cried “Hosanna” — but now He’s flipping tables in your life.

  • It’s uncomfortable. Unexpected. Even painful.

  • But don’t run. Don’t panic.

  • Let Him finish what He started.

The flip is not rejection — it’s preparation for freedom.
