I’m Still in the Story

When the world tries to write you off, God writes you back in. In this powerful message, we revisit the story of Bathsheba—not as a scandal, but as a story of redemption.

Message Notes

Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
— 2 Samuel 12:10
And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her [that had been the wife] of Urias;
— Matthew 1:6
  • God doesn’t write people off — even when others do.

  • Bathsheba’s story reminds us that pain isn’t the end of the story.

  1. He Saw Her Pain

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: [are they] not in thy book?
— Psalm 56:8
  • Bathsheba didn’t choose the pain — it was forced on her.

  • She was silenced, shamed, and left out of the story. But God saw her.

God sees you too. Even if others overlook you, He hasn’t missed a single tear.

2. He Sent A Promise

And she bare a son, and he called his name Solomon: and the Lord loved him.
— 2 Samuel 12:24
  • After grief, God gave Bathsheba Solomon — and then Nathan.

  • One built the Temple. One led to Jesus. Her story carried promise.

Your obedience in hidden seasons may be producing more than you realize.

3. He Secured the Throne

...David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias...
— Matthew 1:6
  • God didn’t erase Bathsheba’s story — He redeemed it.

  • Jesus came through her line. Grace turned scandal into legacy.

You are not disqualified. If grace is writing your story, the best is still ahead.

Response

  • God sees your pain. He hasn’t forgotten your name.

  • Your story isn’t over — you’re still in it.

Will you let Him write the next chapter?
