The Divine Pause
"Because what God’s people need more than anything is for God’s presence to be so real, so strong, so heavy…that it changes the atmosphere" In this powerful message, we explore the power and revelation of being in the presence of God.
Message Notes
“It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one… that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister… for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.”
What God’s people need more than anything is the divine pause of His presence.
The Pause That Interrupts Our Routine
“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.”
The temple service was in full motion — music, worship, and order — but God stopped it all.
The cloud of God’s presence was so real that no one could continue ministering.
Sometimes God interrupts our plans to give us something better — Himself.
The service paused because God Himself took over.
2. The Pause That Meets Every Need
“Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength...”
Solomon’s prayer was for God’s glory to dwell permanently, not just appear for a moment.
The temple was a place where people came with real-life problems expecting to meet God.
God’s presence can address every kind of need — all at once.
The temple wasn’t just a monument to admire; it was a place where God would meet His people in their real-life circumstances.
3. The Pause That Invites Us to Seek
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Seeking God is active — we turn toward Him with all our heart.
The divine pause is God’s invitation for His people to draw closer.
God promises to respond when His people seek His presence with everything they have.
Seeking is the bridge between where we are and what God wants to do in our lives.
